As you will no doubt learn in the course of your lives, the world is filled
with stupid people. Not just America, everywhere you go and look, you will
encounter them. This includes every country, including Finland. I'm
certain that with a little work you could achieve the same results of having
fin after fin on tv not knowing that the usa has a coastline, or that the uk
is surrounded by water, etc etc.

And saying someone is "dumb" or "stupid" because they don't know geography is
little short sighted. If I told you that Mozart couldn't do simple
arithmetic, would you think of him as stupid? Surely not. Some of the best
students in Engineering school knew tons of facts/formulas but when it came to
day to day life they were complete and utter morons. Being smart does not
equal, knowing many facts.

Don't believe everything that you see on tv, or what other people tell you.
Go and learn for yourself, meet people, talk to them, listen to them, take
time to try to understand their points of view, and share your own. This is
how progress is made.
