What's up with all these ratings? Do we really have to get to rate somebody's
ideas about the game? Somebody's opinions? Like you have bad opinions, it's
not needed those to be listened. It's a good idea that you could comment about
ideas in a simple way, but I doubt it works this way. Many people simply won't
bother to give votes to them, and even if they were voted high, it still
wouldn't mean the addition would be good for game balance.

The worst part about these ratings is this Duke's new player ratings. What on
earth are they for, to determine if this is a good guy? WHY do we need
something like that here, it's not like people have a tags saying 'this person
is a 67% good guy' in their face in the real life either. Wake up from this
rating hell already.

I don't know about the other ratings, but I assure you the player ratings are
just for fun ;)

As I stated in ideas-wanted already this is just a way to express your opinion
people would be likely to rate it high, and if the article has 90% of good
sooner, when we have an indication (be it not 7 but at least 30-40-50-100-youna
meit votes) that the feature is widely wanted. I am not saying that everyone
would obey the ratings as a strict guidelines, but I hope you got my point
behind this. Besides, it has a certain amount of fun in it anyway :) As some
people said, "BatMUD has been slashdotted" :)

I bet that the use of rateplayer command is strictly voluntary - If you don't
like it - just don't type it.

I totally agree with this. These ratings are ridiculous, there is no way you
can affect people from rating you and viewing your rating. I oppose all hiding
stuff but this is one feature that definitely needs a hiding option. You can
even hide yourself from the exp plaque, which is funny. So in other hand we
can "protect" our privacy but in other hand we have ratings which we can't
affect anyway.

Yeah sure it's only for "fun". But I can already see how it'll work: everytime
you are about to interact with unknown person you'll first see finger, then
the rating. And you'll have shitloads of prejudices before you even talk with
the person. If this mud has a privacy policy (or whatever that these hide
party/who/plaque etc. things are based on), make it somehow universal so it's
applied to everything instead of some selected features.
