Okay, let\'s presume \"Player A\" normally kills 10k monsters and
\"Player B\" kills 1k monsters. Let\'s also presume that during the
first powerhour the bonus is 4x normal exp, thus \"Player A\" gets
40k from a monster and \"Player B\" gets 4k from the kill. It really
doesn\'t matter what the bonus factor is, as long as it\'s the same for all
players.

So, the values would be:

STANDARD:
[Player A] 10000
(divided by)
[Player B] 1000
= 10

POWERHOUR:
[Player A] 40000
(divided by)
[Player B] 4000
= 10

Are we satisfied here? The ratio doesn\'t change, so we can all be happy and
shake hands?

Not by a long shot! We must also examine the difference:

NORMAL:
[Player A] 10000 - [Player B] 1000 = 9000

POWERHOUR:
[Player A] 40000 - [Player B] 4000 = 36000

Thus, during the first powerhour \"Player A\" gets 36000 - 9000 =
27000 advantage compared to \"Player B\".

I know what the majority is about to say here: \"Player A\" is a
level 100 champion, he does nothing with that lame 27k exp.

Are you fucking serious? Next time he reincs, he can use all that (no doubt, a
godly amount of) advantage exp that he has gotten during powerhours to all
those useless, but compulsory guild skills (like rangers have those scouting
etc. that are required to advance in the guild, even though you don\'t do shit
with those skills) and thus his total exp used to useful skills compared to
newbies and midbies gets even wider, not to mention his total exp.

Thanks for the tune that makes the gap between power players and those who
play only a couple of hours a day less \"linear.\" Hell, this tune
doesn\'t make the gap less linear even in the case that both players are the
same level and the other spends 24/7 playing BatMUD while the other enjoys
only the powerhours.

Those who have sold their soul to this game already have superior eq, money
like god etc. Now they get their elitist beings boosted with exp that means
(or so they pretend) nothing to them. If so, make a tune that gives all small
players tons of exp for every kill and we\'ll see those experienced players
begin to whine like damn newbies.

Don\'t get me wrong, I want this game to reward players who have devoted a lot
of their time playing it more than it rewards random players, but please,
don\'t make the elitism go haywire here.

And finally, fuck you all who are about to say \"don\'t whine, make more
exp.\"

Usin secondery char to flame is quite lame really. And go look at lvl costs
and skill/spell costs, last level of some nice skill like dodge cost several
million exp even with skillmax and levels 80+ cost also quite much compared to
lvl 30+. So that newbie x does 100k per hour and highbie y does 400k at that
same time, i claim that newbie x advances much more with that exp. Yes absolut
exp difference grows but exp is not linear to power, you must also consider
grown expcosts and that nicely balances things. If you did not get this then
you won't be able to play this game because it is soo unfair.

Please, are _you_ serious? Obviously you don\'t even know the basics of accumulative functions nor general statistical calculations - so don\'t make statements based on them. You missed a whole lot of important variables here (like the time these two players play per day; the greater progress this newbie gets compared to his fellow mudder becouse of the cumulatively rising exp costs; and so on).

Ok lets see:
Player A used to do 2 megs every day. He plays 24/7. Now he does 2.5 megs.

Player B used to do 500k every day, and now he does 1m.

Results:
Before the powerhour system Player A did 4 times Player\'s B exp.
After the tune A did only 2.5 times B\'s exp.

Can\'t you see the point here or are you just plain stupid?

I think this is pretty much what the arches are trying to do here \"with this powerhour thing\".

Not everybody is playing a boring exp-money-raping character. Some of us just play for plain fun without ever having to do anything with higher mathematics. In my opinion this tune makes Bat a lot more fun to play for those casual players. There are always those who make more exp, but thats not the problem. The problem is that if your not getting any fun out of this mud you quit. I for example dont have the time to play more than 1-2h a day, maybe less. I was on the verge of quitting since i felt that i could not accomplish anything worth that time in bat with those recent tunes. Now on the otherhand it feels nice to gain a significant amount of exp in that short period of play, and i dont feel like quitting anymore :) You should not think what other people get from this tune. Think what you get and youll propably be better off. Bat was never easy and i still aint but hey now i feel i can advance even with my little playing time. So a big hand to all wizzez and archs for making this game better!

I'd have to completely disagree with your interpretation of the numbers.
