I think the tune to claiming eq is pointless. Lets say player X has been
playing for 8 years, and player Y (recruited to batmud by player X) has only
been playing for 4 years. They share eq, some of which player X made, and
some of which player Y has made. Now they're both screwed because either
player Y has to claim an item to himself only, or player X could claim it to
others but not player Y. Instead of coming up with yet another lame
time-based tune that makes no sense, either let anybody claim a limited amount
of eq to a limited amount of people, or make claiming eq something you can do
with gold, exp, or task points. I doubt anyone ever bothered to keep track of
something meaningful, like how long players X and Y have been on eachothers
friends list. Newer players that have put a significant amount of effort into
the game shouldn't be screwed over just because they recieved eq from an old
friend that retired. I'm tired of being dragged down just because I don't
have the time to spend 12+ hours staring at a computer screen. Right now the
lamest mob in the game would probably have to be Tiamat, based solely on the
fact it takes 20+ hours to kill him. Hell, while I'm at it, i'll flame about
exp too. It still doesnt mean enough. Double level costs or something.
Sorry about the lack of paragraphing btw, but I'm on Telnet atm
