Hmm the current tune of giving ents weak heart bane is in my opinion "a
bit" harsh. This affects spells by prolonging spell duration and this effect
is mediated so, that it isn't possible to compensate the lost rounds with
qc/ql like it is with burden effect. Naturally, this also affects skills.
Additionally, also ticks are affected, i.e. one loses ticks every now and
then.

This tune is especially harsh on priests, who have to cast long spells. There
must be some other way to tune a single race, than giving a weak heart bane.

Yeah sure. it can be tuned by giving them you don't want this bane instead...

I was thinking about making ents grow roots when they idle too long
in the same spot.

I already suggested that long ago, plus there would be the random chance of
maple sugar harvesters coming along and drilling holes in you to collect your
precious sap.

If I did come up with a constructive solution I certainly wouldn't waste it in
the flame group

I would rather take You don't want this bane than this ridiculous harsh
downtune, which makes me lose my ticks, makes my 1 round skills and spells
last for 3 or even 4 rounds, not to mention the longer ones.

I would also like to see some sense in these tunes. When limb damage was
"fixed" and centaurs became somewhat useless, we were told that there was no
tune aimed at a single race, so there'll be no free reincs. Now that there is
a harsh downgrade, we don't get any kind of response from wizards, not to
mention about some free compensation.

Yes, I see there is a need for balance between races. But still. Sheesh.
