hmm I remember back when I was a very new player, and I sugested we
have a larger outter world map- I was laughed at, and somone even had
the balls to send me tells saying how stupid I was. Well needless to
say, look who was right. this map is fucking packed with shit, you
_can not_ get lost anymore. there is either a player city, road or an
area withing 30spaces of eachother.

but the reason why im mentioning this is because of all the new
advertising which BatMUD has been doing, do you really think we have
room for new players? how big do you really think this is gonna get?
the small outterworld (in comparison to our player base) is already small
so why advertise?

I also remember hearing how, its so hard to get an area into the game,
because the process to do so is so selective.. bullshit? how about its
hard to get an area into the game because theres no muther fucking room
on this tiny ass map? I think telling people the truth is more realistic.

oh and btw, re-doing the website in pastels and gray, is very homosexual.

I think it would be nice to have larger outworld as well. That much I can
agree with you about. I am not sure of the technical aspects of expanding the
outerworld but I would imagine it isn't any realistic barrier to doing
expanding the outworld.

I will say that I am quite certain that "not being able to find a suitable
spot" has never prevented an area from being added. It may be crowded, but it
isn't *that* crowded. I suspect you weren't entirely being serious on that
point.

The real problem is expanding the outworld will be tedious. And it is one of
those things you can put off for a while, perhaps now is the time to expand it,
maybe not. But I think we will begin to hit the maximum number of players a
single machine can handle before we "fill up the overworld".

In summary, you probably were an idiot when you originally suggested it, but I
would say you are not so much of an idiot for suggesting it now.

I can agree with your opinion that the map is too small. I personally would
like to see a bigger (4 times or so) outworld map. However, your way of asking
is pretty strange.
About growth: You may have point in saying that the map is packed and there
are too many players around, but that will not really change with having a
bigger outworld. The same amount of areas would still be placed into the new,
bigger map. Areas do not come into life at new and interesting locations on
the map by themselves if there is a suitable spot. They are coded with blood,
sweat and a lot of cookies.

No, not selective. All new areas (I think) are eventually put into the game.
They just have to be good enough, which means that they take longer to
produce. A wizard does not code areas that are not put into the game. What
would be the point?
