Firstly, i love the idea about a council, but honestly i think its
unccecesarry. Wizards DO listen to us (a lot better than in the old days i
might add). And they will still go ahead and change the game as they see fit.
That is the rolle of a admin, to change the game in a way that may not be
popular but is required. For many of the changes, well a lot of the
recommendations are good, but quite frankly in this FREE game there is just
not a lot of very active coders and admins, and there is a really strict
triage (word that means only the most important articles get picked) of ideas
get coded. Now about this eq tune, well i was predictinbg and advocating it
for quite a while and i think its a good tune. Basically, one of the BIG
goals here for the game is learning-doing eq, and really that is just not
emphasized enuff in the old system. Prices were so cheap that just like a
week of cash run could buy you a very decent set ... This eq then lasteed
really forever, minnus the few silk items or MC stolen ones. Now a big change
has occured, and it will force younger players to become more aggressive
about learning eq and becoming fore of a "player" instead of just an exp hero.
As dfor those people who dont have time to play the game or make eq , well i
think this will be slighly to your detriment, and probably youll have slots
open where you didnt have b4, BUT i think the tune is not so harsh that your
set will distingrate in weeks. At least what i have seen. Obviously there
is two sides of any tune....first the idea and then the proper
implentation-tuning of that tune. Obviously the admins will try to keep the
game balanced so that weekenders will have fun too. But perhaps this might
motivate you to be willing to put in a 3hr party at sometime? People really
overestimate how long it takes to kill a lof mobs. And untill you have
actually tried and failed in eq making then you have no right to bitch.
Anyways, just my thoughts, sorry for typos but im on a no echo telnet
