Hi, I was thinking about race guilds and that only a few have things that are
of use to anyone / aren’t replicated in the only guilds you would take
with that race. So I thought of a different solution:
First of all, any race exclusive skills would be treated in the old way
– burrowing etc.
Race guilds continue to be 5 levels, each race also continues to get the
skills that are defined for it (at lower percentages (1/2 of current totals for
example max mining for a dwarf could be 15%).
Except, these skills are not available initially, and they work as a bonus to
the skill total, not just a small trainable amount.
These skill bonuses become available 1% at a time. Each 1% is gained as a
shrine sacrifice reward. These rewards become less frequent as the char gets
closer to the maximum bonus.
Rebirthers who take less than the total race guild levels would get the
appropriate % of bonus available - only 3 levels in dwarf; the max mining bonus
is 9% (3/5 of 15%).
For example:
Bob the dwarf
You sacrifice your Torso-Maker at the shrine.
The gods are pleased with your sacrifice.
You feel dwarfier.
The following bonuses are applied to your skills:
Axes : 1
Mining : 1
Blacksmithing : 1
Alcohol Tolerance : 1
