mistakes we made during the cold war, well indeed mistakes were made, and I
and the American people are deeply ashamed of the lesser dictatorships we
fostered during this dark period of time, but, and here I stress this, these
immoral acts were committed for the sake of the greater good, which we
believed was to protect the world's freedom from Communism. Or are you so
impossibly idiotic as to believe that Stalin did not have Imperialistic
yearnings, that he would not have attacked you, weak as you were from the
World war, without our warriors manning the walls? While you, you European
countries pursued the rebuilding of your cities and the refining of your
economies, we Americans garrisoned your cities--our steel and determination
protected you while you were weak, at the personal cost of TRILLIONS of
dollars. And why did we do this? Because we, and your leaders at the time
believed the price of FREEDOM was beyond measure. Have you perhaps forgotten
your pact with us? That agreement among the enlightened leaders of the free
world? You young Europeans need to return to school, study history! Now, if
you'd rather live in a world ruled by Islamic fundamentalists that is fine,
then please go join the Taliban, we will destroy you along with all the rest
of our enemies and those that hate freedom. But honestly I do not think that
is the case. Merely by LOOKING, merely by SEEING clearly you can ascertain
who is the right in this conflict. Do you honestly think that the Taliban is
good, that Afghanistan was well ruled, by people who loved justice and law?
If so, your perception is quite poor indeed. Furthermore, we in America do
not feel the overpowering need to indoctrinate other nations. If you can
peaceably deal with us, then we will treat you fairly. But these Islamic
Fundamentalists have no concept of fairness. Or are you not clear about what
Fundamentalism means? The Taliban hate us, and wish to destroy us (and by
extension, you too), not because of what we support Israel, or the fact that
we ar e in Saudi Arabia, or all the other countless execuses they give. If we
backed down on one of their demands, they would simply demand something else.
These people hate us (and you) because of WHO WE ARE. They hate the fact that
our country allows us to be free, to pursue liberty. They hate not that we
are Christian, or Jewish or Muslim or any other particular distinction, but
that we can be anything that we choose. These are the sort of men (yes men!!
Because women are a non-entity in their society) that wish to control, wish to
dominate by force and terror. They silence their opponents not by
intellectual discussion, but by the noose, the gun barrel, the knife! Are
these the people you wish to support, Europe? Are you so lost that you do not
know whose side you truly are on? In our attack on Afghanistan we killed
their citizens, very well. Yet our attack was NOT on their citizens but on
the criminals that their nation willfully habored. In every war innocents
perish, such is the nature of conflict, and yet war is necessary sometimes for
