I do not totally disagree with you Blayke, thanks for a nice post.

An explanation for the widely spread anti-american movement in Europe can be
found in the fact that many over here, think your current president is more
or less a clown, a clown that fried alot of ppl as a governor and is
considered a bloodthirsty bastard. That makes it so much easier to disagree
with his current plan of action to wipe out international terrorism.

Another explanation, my personal view, is that after 9/11, it became very
clear that the act was carried out by a small number of ppl, who were
independent of eachother and had no knowledge of the greater picture, to
strike at four different targets. Perhaps only a handful of ppl in the world
knew what was about to happen. Still, in Afghanistan, everyone who could spell
to Osama were more or less a legit target to bomb. The doings of a few does
not justify the bombing of an entire nation.

And, yes, I despised the taliban regime and I think saddam should be
overthrown, but should America, Europe or Asia or anyone else make this
happen? No.

I think it was Jimmy Carter who said "Historical data show a strong
correlation between US involvement in international situations and an
increase in terrorist attacks against the United States."

And this goes for all the other nations aswell. There will be more disasters
like 9/11, if the solution to terrorist attacks is to bomb the living hell out
an entire country as retaliation. I for one think its easier to carry out a
suicide bombing mission if your house, job and family are bombed to pieces,
and if you are prepared to die why not get back at the bastards who bombed
your house and wife to bits in the process?

I think your current method of fighting terrorism does in fact produce more
terrorists, desperate people ready to blow up buildings and themselves.

Considering the Europe that you have bravely _defended_ for decades, I thank
you for that, in ww1 and ww2 things could have gone seriously wrong without
the U.s support, but I do not think that we should be so grateful that we just
shut up and close our eyes.
