All this talk about roads to various areas...keep in mind: the harder an area
is to reach, the fewer people who go there. Meaning that the ones who do make
the effort to get there will be rewarded with: more mobs to kill, and better
tune on those mobs.
Also, with areas like mithil/etc, iirc, there's several areas all right next
to eachother...so one trip out there will give you a bit more time killing
mobs.

Areas that have granite posts but are hard to get to otherwise seem like an
ideal newbie friendly solution...easy for noobs to get there, hard for those
solotanks to get there.

This sounds good in theory, but much like Republican ideologies it completely
fails to consider practical application... while yes the thought of an area
being "hard to reach" would imply that fewer people will go there, it fails to
consider the fact that most players have some faster/more efficient ways to
get places anyway, people with mounts/ships/navs seek out these far off places
as well, and the only ones that are really affected by the lack of roads are
the newbies or the foolish nomads who haven't realized barbranger is not the
right combo for soloing anymore.

And thank you for pointing out the foolishness of the Democratic ideologies.
Why should the administration waste precious resources (time) when intelligent
and motivated players have already found fast and efficient solutions? All
they would be doing is encouraging the lazy to whine for more uptunes.

Since this was about newbies, would you mind pointing out what method a level
30 newbie has to get to digga's domain without using half of his/her eps?

Well, maybe not lvl 30, but...into the mid 20s, one can 'touch post' then
something like 'goto diggas' and get there instantly with no ep/sp/etc cost,
from outside any of many newbie areas...

The original comment I saw was specifically from someone who said he had
gotten beyond the point where he could use the posts.
