Hi,

Some time ago I put a poll on BatMUD's website that asked the question
'So how did you hear about BatMUD?'. After checking out the 1163
responses (thanks), one of the groups has aroused some interest:

Reading a magazine. 12.04 % (140)

That's a lot of players. I am not sure in how many magazines BatMUD has
been during the years, and I'd like to hear about them so give me a tell
if it is something else than the Pelit-magazine in 1994, because that's
the one I know... and now I got a hold of that magazine, thanks to Caitline.

So I scanned the story about BatMUD, written into the Pelit-magazine in
Finland, June of the year 1994. I also translated the text into English
because some of you might be interested.

It's a three page story and I wrote the translation very quickly, so do not
report typos and such - it should be understandable enough Just a
curiosity from the past. Note the partial who listing on the third page!
I bet my name would have been just above Kirk's.. gnnnn! Three archwizards
as mortals is also a nice touch

I just wanted to publicly thank Shardik for taking the time to translate the
PELIT article. This is probably the first time that players outside of
Finland (and Sweden?) have seen it.

As an aside, Batmud was also mentioned in Rolling Stone magazine, and I think
I posted the article in the past. I still have a copy of the original
article, but I forgot where I put it. But for anyone interested in finding
it themselves, the article had Brad Pitt on the cover and it was promoting
his role in "Interview With the Vampire."
