I was pondering how clothes could be made more useful the other day
and I made a few observations:
1. The major thing making clothes unpopular is that armor covers it up. Yet,
warez this is in some ways a bit arbitrary since not all armors actually do
all that much covering. I would suggest that, as a game balance issue,
armors no longer cover up clothing (since they don't always, in fact, and
it would remove the problem) or at least that armor does not render clothing
completely useless, but maybe reduces the cha bonus by half.
2. It would be really great if clothing responded to ID like most items
did, and revealed a word concerning how useful they were. Right now, people
can't be anything resembling sure how useful clothing is, and so they're not
going to commit to buying it. This would change if they had some certainty.
3. It's possible that the max charisma bonuses from clothing are not high
enough. I don't really know however since I can't tell what the existing
bonuses are.
