It would be nice to have a skill to train that allows one to attack twice per
round with the same weapon. The idea being, obviously, that once you master
using your weapon for single attacks, you can then learn to use it with more
speed and proficiency. Is it necessary? Not strictly, no, I just thought it
would be nice for those players (ahem LoCs ahem) that may want to roleplay a
bit. Hey, while I am on the topic, I think there ought to be a skill to using
two weapons at a time as well. Fighting with a weapon in each hand is at
least as hard to learn as fighting effectively with one weapon, if not more
so.

Shadow sabres get 'battle cadence' which does just that. I regularly get
4 attacks per round using two weapons.

Eep. Didn't see your clarification message following immediatly after. Well,
you can wield the weapon in both hands then ;) But I imagine what you're
really
saying is give some sort of skill like that to a different guild than Sabres.

Also, isn't negate offhand penalty the skill you're referring to for two
weapon fighting training? If not, it might help if you clarify a bit.

Well, apprently I am just not much good at expressing myself. Negate offhand
penalty allows you to use your offhand more effectively. The skill I propose
would allow you to actualy wield a weapon in that hang. Negate offhand lets
you hit harder, the skill I propose lets you hit in the first place. My other
skill was working on the idea of a one weapon fighter who could still attack
to rounds. Sort of a flavor thing.

Wow, and english is my first language. . . still attack two times per round is
how "still attack;to rounds" should read.

I was thinking the same thing that originally started this thread, but kind of
differently. I would like to see an actual advantage when using only one
weapon or one two-hand weapon. There could be new skills to specialize in
two-weapon fighting and in using one (perhaps a bit larger) weapon.

Using one weapon instead of two could give you +dam to strikes and a better
change to parry blows and score criticals. This would of course require
careful balancing and some new skills. This would propably add a bit of
tactics to battle-system, when using one weapon becomes more useful against
hard-hitting monsters with low hp and using two weapons would be effective
against monsters who lack damage but have good defense.

I believe this is something for wizzes to consider...
