How about making it possible to slowly increase stats by using them. For
example if you use skills with str as affecting stat it would eventually go
up. For skills with multiple affecting stats it could be based on the actual
formula, ie. which stat matters more increases faster. Or it could be tied to
guilds so that a barb increases faster in str whereas a ranger would get a mix
of str/dex etc. Also the higher a certain stat is the slower it becomes to
increase it.

First thing this could be used for is balancing the difference between booned
and boonless players. As booned people start a reinc with way highter stats
they would obviously increase slower than a boonless person in the same guild.
Although the boonless player would never actually reach the same stats, the
difference between the two would slowly decrease, provided they both stayed in
the same reinc. In other words booned players would still have a considerable
advantage, but a dedicated player of a certain guild could be a close match to
a booned reincbie.

Another point is to allow for some variation in the rather static races. As is
races are divided roughly into tank and caster types with a couple in between.
With "trainable" stats it'd be possible to take one of the not-so-optimal
races and eventually make it work in a certain guild.

Of course all this'd need some careful tuning and slight changes to the boon
system (cant pick a boon for an already increased stat etc), but I think the
general idea is worth considering.

PS. in case you just had to know, I do have a bit over one full boon

Just like in real life, your bonus stats could go down too, if you
don\'t use them enough. If you fight, your muscles will grow, but if you
just cast spells, you\'ll get weaker over time. Bad news to players who
don\'t play much at all (like me), but it still sounds fair to me.

Easy enough to apply to wis/int/dex/str, but how about constitution?
(Maybe link dex/str-skills to constitution as well?)

Also, strength might improve with things that would naturally improve
your strength: fighting and using EPs to walk around.
