how about giving back the apprentice/master-partyexpbonus?
+ make the expbonus % depend on master's leadership skill
+ make it so that master has to have at least double (or whatnot) the exp
worth of apprentice for the bonus be effective
+ make mastery of <whatever the guilds major mastery skill is> affect how much
cheaper the apprentice can train.

this'd make the mud once again more newbie friendly. Also make the bonuses
master gets when apprentice maxes guild dependant on the level of apprentice
in guild when starting apprenticeship (lvl 1 = max bonuses, all but 1-level
10% bonuses or whatnot)

Good idea. Although, instead of making the masters bonus level dependant, how
about giving the master a bonus dependent on how long he's been a master and
how much "discount" the apprentice has recieved from the guild (ie. how much
the master has been there in the guild while the apprentice is
training/studying). It is kind of hard to define how a master has been "good"
and how big a bonus he or she deserves for his (or her) efforts.
