During daytime, creatures who fear the evil sun, could be able to walk the
face of the earth, and hide in murky swamps or deep forest, where the sun
shines a little less due to the forest canopy, or swamps, covered in mists.

Same for those darned creatures who worship the light, perhaps they could be
sitting on a hill during nighttime, and get light from the full moon.
