Hi everyone.
I think that it would be usefull if there would be somekind of help file
explaining basic etiquette of batmud. That way we newbies could be more polite
to everyone (and not get killed by older players after accidently offending
them

.
This help file could explain for example why looking at someone is considered
unpolite etc.
Etiquette is very subjective here in BatMUD. Is there actually a set-in-stone
list of rules for social behavior? Not really. Of course, this is what you
are asking for.

But social etiquette cannot really be written down. By
making such a list of social rules, it disallows those rules to change and
evolve. Social norms will now be viewed upon by newbies as rules, not
guidelines. At some point, players need to go out and experience the game
world and interact to learn these rules. Your specific example is a bad
example also. A player killing someone for looking at them is just being an
asshole moron baby. This may be just my opinion, but as a wizard I would not
want to endorse such actions as "acceptable social behavior".
Some social aspects are already touched on. Rules of spamming channels for
example is not a socially defined rule, but a set in stone rule dictated by
the arches. Forcing a"social" rules is not something wizards need to do.
Social norms can vary from "click" to "click", player city to player city, and
I don't think should be written down and dictated to others.
