That is, in fact, the exact opposite of what I was saying. There are enough
triggerable messages in the game as it is. Have you noticed that skills,
unlike spells, can have random durations? That's there for a reason. Those
that are not random are pretty easy to count. The only reason I can think of
for the Skill:### timer would be to make triggers to inform party members when
your iron palm (or whatever) would go off, or to know yourself -- the exact
opposite of what a random skill duration was meant to do. Have you noticed
that Tiamat gloves are extremely rare, on one of BatMUD's most powerful
monsters, and currently ungettable? Adding a skill 'skill eye' or whatever
would devalue those items and, yes, mortals would complain loudly. And, they
would be right.
Thus, I say again, no.
