Actually the idea that I would like to propose has been implemented, in other
muds. Maybe we shouldn't strive to be so very original if that hampers the
playability that much. For example in Icesus there are subguilds in almost
every guild. We could introduce them here as well. Say a player who has maxed
one guild, could then be able to join one of two or more subguilds to further
improve his/her skills in a particular area (one subguild might give rangers
more defensive skills, another more offensive, etc.). The experience cost in
subguilds could be raised, to prevent the 'all powerful' characters. However I
also think that certain backgrounds should share certain guilds: allow
religious characters to dabble in magic or give a tank guild a few def spells.
Maybe that could be done with subguilds, maybe through level limit on
different background guild, as was mentioned earlier. Maybe this idea is
stupid or can't be implemented, so I crave pardon in advance of those who
don't like this post. ++ Saldas.
