Newbie wizzes generally don't get access to pcity code; after all, a minor
mistake in pcities can cause a lot of destruction ;). Heck, not many
wizzes
I think Hackop's idea is a good one: not in good in the sense that it can
be easily implemented (on this topic, i can't speak) -- but good in the
sense that, often 'needless detail' can add much depth and enjoyment to the
gameplay -- flush out the world in ways that are not immediately tangible.

The more humans touch each room, the more real the world becomes, and the
less focused you are on exploiting the algorithms of a game (min/maxing
...?). Of coz some ppl enjoy figuring out what makes the clock toc, but
some people just want to immerse themselves however they know how to.

Perhaps in the grand scheme of things it would not be such a bad idea to
implement some sort of pseudo room code that allows wizlings or even
mortals to 'touch' and add to each room without the risk of breaking it.
In this way we might leave our mark in this world, in places other than the
exp plaque room.

just talking...

Ok, my thought here. From what I see, the vast majority of players don't
even bother to set up short/long descriptions for the pcity rooms.
Therefore, why should wizards waste their time coding "luxury" or
"add flavor to the room" type stuff when most people are too lazy
to even take the simplistic first step of adding flavor by making
some neat long descs and/or creating some actual theme to the city.

I realize I am lumping everyone together and I am sure at least
one city or room out there has done this... but my point is I'd rather
empower the players to do this themselves and to some degree we have
and they didn't.~s
