From what I see, the vast majority of players don't even bother to set
up short/long descriptions for the pcity rooms.
You're right; and, I'm guilty of that myself.

Therefore, why should wizards waste their time coding "luxury" or "add
flavor to the room" type stuff when most people are too lazy to even
take the simplistic first step of adding flavor by making some neat
long descs and/or creating some actual theme to the city.
You're right, of course. I think I was a little drunk when I wrote that
post -- and a little bit too excited about, uhm, human interest type
stuff. I should know better ;-)

but my point is I'd rather empower the players to do this themselves
and to some degree we have and they didn'ts
You're right. But you could say that maybe canned and costly room
creation in canned contexts isn't that interesting. maybe short/long
descripts aren't that interesting either (i dunno, i wrote a couple
lines for my pcity room -- I don't know how to change it though).

But do all characters live in pcities? (this is not rhetorical, i
actually don't know -- haven't played in a while :P)

Why can't a ranger move into a hollow tree in an 'F' outworld room,
train a few bears for guards (named "Lucy" and "Sally"), and live off my
land? Why can't a thrikhren burrow a hole in BCity wall and live there?
I dunno. Stupid stuff. Stupid like "floating letters" but more
complicated. Heh.

Heck, I'd be happy if someone would just read the typo reports for

Ok ok, it was more than 'a little out' there. Typos first. I
volunteer myself to read typo reports.

oh you read this far? Gee... :)
