Ok. I have remained quiet for a while, but I have now decided to lay out some
of my collected thoughts. I want to apologize beforehand if I am repeating
things said/requested before. I am sure alot of my ideas have come from
reading and improveing on prior ones.
It seems to me that there is no easy solution to solving the current issues
here now. The question you have to ask is why do people do eq in the first
place. The answers I come up with are 1) to sell for cash, and 2) to make for
their own use. Now, down-tuneing 'raped' eq and uptuneing high eq mobs does
nothing. It seems that people still rape eq. Also, many players seem turned
off to makeing eq due to the difficulty of the mobs. If eq mobs are there as
difficult mobs to give status, and to reward players for their
time/effort/skill rather than just exping, downtuneing all eq is not the
answer. Those who went through the effort to make the eq for themself have
been left shafted, while the rapers still win.
To me, the solution lies targeting the rapers, not the eq iteslf. It is
already set up that eq gets damaged easier and permantely if the owners name
is not on it. Why not set it up so that eq downtunes due to too much of the
item in the game affect only thoes items brought in by the same names, within
some time period. Therefore I can run some eq mob for money over and over
again, but the more of that eq with my name on it the lower its stats are. If
I dont do the run for some given time period (can change with the mob - larger
more time etc) when I run it again the stats will be full, like the last time.
