The diffrence bettween cloth armour and metal armour could very by the magical
enchatments placed upon it.. it its possible to create cloth armour with the
same protection as metal armour with the use of heavy magic hance the the
sight of a monk taking blows that would put a knight down in one swing in full
body armour...

In theory, theory and practice are the same, but in practice, theyre not.
