When looking at people, we should get some indication of their charismas, e.g.
Malicat is gorgeous/good looking/plain/ugly/butt ugly/hideous. Extreme
strength might contribute something to appearance as well, e.g. Ooga ripples
with bulging muscles, while Beliar is a 98 pound weakling.

Better yet, put the player's charisma right before the race in the player's
short desc (something like 'Ayli the tolerable sprite'). Makes sense that it
doesn't take much looking at to decide whether a person is attractive or not.

It does make sense that you should be able to see someone's charisma. But
balance wise it doesn't. Batmud has many challenges, for the tarmalen that
wishes to rais/ress/nb their way to exp, charisma and fumbles are one of the
challenges. Want to see someones charisma, what are you willing to give up for
it? How about high charisma players offer less experience because they're easy
targets. No? okay deal with the risk. There are other ways around it. You
could track those that manage their charisma and those that don't.

or hell? Sure, you could see it while they're alive and track that, but I
don't
dg
think it's a total giveaway like you suggest.

hell? It doesn't seem like too much of a freebie giveaway to me. It would
still require tracking to know who manages their charisma or not.

P.S. Sorry about the double-post/formatting problems on the first one. I'm
a total n00b.

When you hop into a party, you take some risk in order to gain exp.
Why should idle-tarma-ressers be exempt from taking risks in order to
gain experience?

If you're not prepared to take the chance of a fumble... don't ress.

Typically, one wouldn't see what someone's charisma is until after one ressed
them.

If they make you fumbel send them back to hell make them pray and watch them
lose a lvl that eatch them a lesson for having low char.

In theory, theory and practice are the same, but in practice, theyre not.
