Once upon a time, there was a kind Elfin Prince named Rollie who was generous
to the poor and thereby loved by all.
One day, after noticing a profound loneliness in his eyes, the townselfs
decided to help find him a wife. All the fair maiden-elfs were summoned to a
secret meeting where each would draw from a pile of stones in hopes of picking
the one which would win her the hand of the Prince. It was declared that in
one week, there would be a ball, at which time the Prince would choose his
wife.
On the night of the ball, all the eligible girls made themselves beautiful and
took along their special stones.
Before long, all the candidates placed their stones on the royal table for
the Prince to inspect. The Prince cast a glance up and down the line and in no
time made his choice. He chose a young lady who had carefully stitched a
beautiful case in which to cradle her stone and to protect it from harm.
