A public hospital in Newfoundland. A laboratoty of general blood testing. A
young woman comes for testing and the doctor asks her name. 'Anne Smith', says
the woman. So the doctor puts down: Smith, A. After some time another woman
comes in, and presents herself as Amelie Smith, so the doctor writes down
'Smith, A.' again. After two days in comes a guy and tells that his name is
John Smith and his wife, Annie, was in for blood testing, and he wants to see
the results. The doctor opens the drawer, finds two files for A.Smith, one
having a result of diabetes and the other having that of syphilis. After a
moment's consideration the doctor replies: 'Allright, this is what you do. Buy
a large jar of jam and feed that to your wife. If she doesn't die from that, I
wouldnt recommend having sex with her.'
