Possibly you could write something in your client that would grep your friends
out of 'detect misery' output.
Possibly you could do something like:

command w west;grep -q 'uncon' finger whyi;grep -q 'uncon' finger aloysha;grep
-q 'uncon' finger jenming;grep -q 'uncon' finger antonius

(and the same thing for the other directions, of course.) It's sortof
stressing the server, but it's possible to approximate that ability that you
want.
That's the WORST solution ever suggested in ideas-wanted to replace a
suggested feature. If I have 150 people on my friendslist and will implement
the solution you provide, you'll probably feel it immediately. finger command
doesn't only display a few lines of text, it does a huge amount of calls to
check this and that on the player. You gotta trust me on this, you DO NOT
wanna do it this way.
Yep, finger is CPU consuming. Now, where is my 'lvl <player>' command? :)

How about 'eq <player>' command. Shows what kind of eq the targeted player
has. Its quite usefull to know when inviting someone to party...

Thank god this was BS. I almost misread as ideas-wanted and then wanted to
smack someone.
