There were complaining about that theres just too much eq, or even good eq in
game. So how this abuse prot changes it? Just more bit crappier eq (good way
to fool newbies?).
I cant see how these new tunes would get allready excisting players to be more
drawn to this game. We need new players and also we need to keep older ones
interested too. Power hours might be good thing for newbies so maybe just but
levellimit on it cause biggers allready can do the exp they want/need and
giving \"free\" exp doesnt make it any more interesting. Or just
make somesort expcap-level thing, so higher level yourself are you wont get
any exp from small mobs, so you need to be teasing mobs around your own level,
not mobs you can kill too easily.
This 91-100 lvl cost thingie... I cant see the reason for it, too much exp
again in game so lets raise the level costs and give them power hour? am i
just stupid for not seeing how in hell this would help anything? And being lvl
100 should have some sort carrot on it then, make it so tempting that people
around 50-80 lvl\'s would kill to get there. But now it really doesnt make
some much difference if you are 100, 90 or even 80 lvl, few more guild or ss
levels, few more training points etc, but the difference on being 100lvl or 90
lvl aint much more than expcost on levels as i see it. And I also want to point
out that tp-selling/donating thingie, now almost everyone have those so lovely
boons if you just have cash irl. If players are too powerfull considering the
mobs we hunt...lets see, we were given lots of tp\'s, lots of
\"free\"/easy exp (power hours every now and then, explore,
mob\'s-\"rape\"-tune...), lots of ways to get good eq, lots of ways
to get good stats etc etc, so wheres the challenge? Killing Tiamat or Burgle?
Sorry but i dont see the reason to spend boot ( or hours) chasing 1 mob, you
know some of us even have other things to do for those 20 hours.
And a bit about rebirthing...Why would I choose to loose all my exp and easy
life for just coming a newbie again? Considering that theres not so many
better races to choose for my newbie-tarma-nun-to-be... So all i would achieve
by rebirthing would be nice ( ) and some rank and oh those couple free racial
levels...but wheres the reason to make your char better ( read: more
interesting) by rebirthing when you think you have seen it all and so, now it
just makes your char a newbie but how it difference\'s...afterall you prolly
can make exp with it quite fast even, considering that you prolly have your
higbie friends and old eq\'s etc and we can all \"simulate\" it with
slow reinc anyway...
I have lost the reason why i ever started to play, and i dont see a reason to
continue playing if things continue going this way. So thanks for my friends
and partymates. Logging on every now and then but you wont see me playing
\"actively\" until theres some real changes done. Maybe this is what
wizzies want, to get rid of older(whining ones too) players to get more room
for new ones....
I didn't quote your article because it was too long and I dont like the in
game editor, but I'll address one point of the post which is the level costs
from 91 to 100 and also you statement of simulatenously not wanting to do a
slow reinc or rebirth and losing interest in the game.
I believe that perhaps maybe you are "done" with batmud. You are at the max
level, and you don't want to be a newbie again. That is perfectly fine and
understandable, but I must tell you that we cannot continue to provide endless
sources of things for you maxed out character to do. So if you do decide to
"fade away" then that is great the administration would have no hard feelings
as you clearly accomplished all there is to accomplish, perhaps you should
consider joining the wizard team and help to give back to the game that
provided you with quite a bit of game to play.
Now as for the inflated level 91-100 costs, I will flat out tell you that it
is there to make rebirthing seem like something you might want to consider.
It really is not worth earning the exp for those 10 levels just to get some
very minor bonus's. I would expect that mostly retired people will advance to
level 100 just for the status and then procede to do nothing.
Rebirthing is not really just another level of giving more power to your
character, as has been stated over and over and over again. It is like this,
if you are around level 90 to 100, have all yours skills maxed out (and
spells) etc, then you probably should rebirth or retire or wiz. It is that
simple.
Duke -> I dissagree with your assessment on: level 100 with max skills time to
rebirth or wiz. There is so much more to this game than that.
Really, the point is she quit before the tune ...
therefore she will quit after the tunes as well.
(btw please remove time limits on powerhour, which would make it powerexp or
something. This would make parties/raises/eq alot more interesting feasable.)
Yeah sorry, did wrote that rebirth-part bit weird, wasnt mean it should give
more power ( i know helpfiles and meaning of it), it was ment to be bit like
suggestion that rebirth could be bit more \"another level\" of the game like
some new or special guilds or so (and yes this should be in ideas-wanted
section prolly), now its just couple new races...shrug. So i apologize about
not being very clear about what i meant.
About wizzing...hmm i dont know, im not so good coder or not so sure if i would
find it enjoyable, and i dont think you want me to wiz.
And as 008 said i did take a break before tunes, and coming back after those
tunes, it seems useless. So fading away sounds more suitable now, though wont
suicide my char or anything as stupid, cause i want to have that little flame
of hope that i would make come back, you never know....
