Ok, most of you who read my previous post are now probably asking 'well, what
should they do then' (not really, I just want to think that you are asking
that, since you probably are actually asking 'who does he think he is' or 'why
the fuck am I still reading this bullshit')

First of all, the game is way too rewarding to those that play 24/7 (or close
to that). Yes, contribution should be rewarded, but do you _really_ think that
anyone should be playing ANY game too much?

How to change this then? Duke already made the first step by reinstating the
powerhour, thanks (Disclaimer for those who can't stand the powerhour-thingy:
AND NOW DON'T STOP READING, I'LL EXPLAIN THIS LATER!)

Next step would be to make EQ-making more incremental instead of 18 hour run
to a big puff monsie that has the top EQ.
How to achieve that then? (here comes the part you won't like =)
For the whole history of BatMUD it has been a source of novel ideas that have
been ripped off to other games - now it's their turn to pay back:
Make all EQ droppped by monsters more or less random (a'la WoW) unless you
have a quest to slay that monster - in which case you get a quest drop (i.e.
reward - the current top EQ)

And the quest should be (again a ripoff from WoW) so that they are a sequenced
- You must complete a chain of 4-5 quests of ascending difficulty before able
to accept the quest to do the last part that gives you the ultimate reward.

Also placing appropriate money rewards on the intermediate quests helps the
problem with reincs costing too much as a nice side effect.

This would result that you can do the 24h EQ-monster in six 4h sessions
instead of the single 24h session that only the nolifers can do.
Ok, now comes the explanation to praise of powerhour;
Duke is probably the most detested archwizard among the highbies - this is
because most of the highbies are like other archwizards. Stuck to their ways.
Now don't take this as a sign of ungratitude.
He still is one of the best, because he actually makes an effort to really
*CHANGE* the game.

Most of you old timers remember that bat WAS evolving more rapidly in the old
days (or perhaps we just think that), back when there was way less players and
coders. I very much doubt this is because the wizzes nowadays are more lazy. I
think that it is because adminstration is more conservative on big changes.

I don't mean that it is a bad thing, just that perhaps some fresh ideas should
be taken in consideration by asking "would it ruin the game" instead of "can
we know for sure that it would absolutely and positively make the game better"

Ok, this post seems too long already. Time to take a bit time to think again.
