The weapon speed should imo be dependant on the size of the wielder and size
of the weapon(s). Let's think about an giant with 2 daggers. I really can't
see it. Why? Well first of all, the dagger would go fully into the palm of a
giant (at least that image i get of giants size), and if someone attacks with
something sharp in their palms, i think it would only hurt the attacker.
Second, i really can't see giant ever moving swords/other weapons faster than
some smaller race, fe. elf/drow, even if giant wields 2 butterknives and drow
is wielding sabres or so. I know, that it would be hard to code some
restrictions to make it work, but i really think that big races should wield
big weapons (even with reduced weapon speed) and small races small weapons
(hits more, but with less damage). Some minium size for a weapon to wield
could solve this but i think, that would restrict the game too much. But i'll
leave it for u to decide.

Ok enough of my ramblings. And enough reading of Salvatore for me too.
You're missing an important fact here. You should get your local neighborhood
giant, and get your local neighborhood sprite. Have the sprite put on a
breastplate. Fits, right? Ok, now have the sprite give that breastplate over
to the giant, and have him try it on. Fits too, right? It's obvious, then,
that the magic of the bat realm causes weapons and armours to automagically
resize to their wearer/wielder. So, when a giant wields a dagger, it really
becomes the size of a sprite's longsword, and since the size is all
proportional, the hit speed stays the same (unless, of course, you determine
that a giant for some reason moves slower in general).

Ok.. Some clarifications to my post. This F-A-N-T-A-S-Y world is based on the
books, so i'll use them as my source for this.
Quote:
You realize that when a hobbit wears a pair of spider boots, then sells them
to a giant and he wears them, they fit both.

Now, let's see.. In how many books have you seen a hobbit with a pair of
(spider) boots? Ok, i know, some hobbits don't like to use boots, but the idea
of having a hobbit size creature wearing boots isn't that ridiculous. Now what
about giant? Could they wear boots? I think so yes, and if it's a magical
boots that resizes to anyone why couldn't they wear the same boots?

The same point as the last one, although i don't know if sprites would use
breastplates, as it's too heavy and would restrict their movements too much..
But in this batmud world i'd say that it would be possible.

First, although i haven't read a massive amounts of books, i haven't seen a
giant wielding daggers or even longswords as weapons in any book, please
correct me if i'm wrong (and tell me the book, it would be nice to see a
drizzt do giant in some book). But that last part says it all.. You determine
that a giant for some reason moves slower in general. In how many books have
you seen a giant fighting with greater speed than .. almost any other race
fighter? Or better yet, fighting as fast as a sprite? Giants and other big
races should still imho use bigger weapons, but that's just my opinion and
dunno if it fits in this world we call batmud.
