Because if you were moving at the speed of mr. tolkiens ents, you'd tick a
couple times before you moved any direction. Unless you're one of those creepy
shadowy pine forest ents. But I don't think those were too sentient, so I
don't know if those count. Besides, how many ents have gone up in blazes by
being blasted by flame spells or for carelessly stomping out campfires?(I
still believe there should be a tiny % chance of that happening, just for a
little justice on the firebuilders part, and maybe make ents a little more
cautious about where they walk.) Are they weaker to axe attacks? Shouldn't
they be?
I got a mental image of them ents trashing through forests faster than a
hobbit can run, or a man, or even a horse, if not included something like
gandalf had, but that is not the point I tried to make, the point was, a tree
moving amongst trees should know how to move there better than lets say a man,
ogre or anything lesser sized beast that cannot just storm through forests
leaving a path of carnage behind.
