The "reskill" command has been added. It is called "!use". As you might guess,
"recast" is also "!cast". Enjoy.

As for the Orc Scouts, I have re-re-investigated the quest and, surprise
surprise, it's still do-able. However, due to Ssmud's incessant
whi^H^H^H^H^H^H thoughtful comments on the subject, I moved the "you did the
quest!" message to a part of the code that happens only when you get the
quest. Hopefully this will cut down on the confusion in what is (I believe)
one of the best quests in the game.

Actully I really hate it when I try to !cast and I only get cast info.

I've come to live with it, but that's just one (common) example proving !cast
doesn't cast last spell :)

Thing is... !cast won't cast the last spell, it will repeat the last command
that begins with "cast". If you spam "cast info", that's gonna be repeated. I
guess you've figured it out so far, that's more to explain it to other people
:)

Neither does it cast the last spell to new target.

cast \'poks\' kissa
!cast favorit
No match found for (cast favorit) from command history.

Maybe the new command would not be so bad idea afterall?
Worst scenario would be that users with not so uber clients would get a break
from typing cast \'cure light wounds\' tankX or clw tankX all over and over
again.

A :-D hits you.

You totally missed my point :) !cast is not a command. '!' in itself is a
parser command, it will just repeat the command starting with those letter you
typed. so if you typed only 'cast cure light wounds at booboohoo' since you
logged in, even !c would do to repeat it.

Actually, !cast _never_ works for me to repeat the last cast spell, cast I
(like I bet most people) use command aliases for spells. For example, I have a
command 'gar' for cast 'golden arrow' $*, so I type "gar monster", then type
!cast, it tried to repeat last command beginning with "cast". In fact, I'd
have to type !gar to repeat my golden arrow. .... pointless ramblings, but
trying to prove this "there is already a command to repeat last cast" bullshit
wrong. Not that I really care, I can handle !gar :)

-Bro, with a long pointless badly arranged post

No, i did not miss your point.
Like bro so splendently pointed out, you cant change the target with !blaa blaa
and that was the thing that was missing. (yes, im bit worried too about
agreeing with him about something. has to do with the winter ending. too damn
hot)

I dont grasp in what part i need less attention for the game in compramission
of writing \'blast örrimörri\' or \'recast örrimörri\' (or the non-working
\'!cast örrimörri\').

But i could see some command aliases that i could be free as i could remove the
fabs, blast, shield, SoP, toxic, displacement, ccw, clw, csw, cph, AD, MT, EA,
FA, FoF, HW, IW, NF, Terror, area, bcry, blur, dispersion, insulation + the
rest of the bunch that i can\'t remember upfront as i could simply write
\'cast shield of protection at target1\' and use this nice idea about
\"!recast target2\" and tadaa free up commands.

But that would of course be wrong vs all those that have used miljons of exp on
those +commands abilitys and stayed up all night long to figure how to do those
uber commands all the elite is using.
And we can\'t have any of those, can we.

A :-D hits you.

*sigh*

I liked the comment I got about this thread "maybe you should also make a
command that ties their shoelaces and wipes their noses too".

People, please, even if you don't use a robot/trigger/script-using client (I
graduated from Raw Telnet University with honors) it is not really that hard
to type out a few spell commands. That's why we made them. The controls for
this game might not be the "press A to cast golden arrow" simplicity you find
on console games, but they're really not that bad once you read the helpfiles
and learn what help already exists. You've got commands. You've got repeat.
You've got that those things, you know, you move them, words come
out...fingers, yeah, that's it. I have no intention of making this game
require even less attention than it already does.

Shinarae Lluminus

P.S. I will continue to read the newsgroups for ideas that cannot be done by
the current state of affairs, and will impliment the ones that make sense.
"respell" does not qualify to me.
