It would be nice to have some line of credit here in batmud that is basically
a free loan like credit cards. Based on some factors we would have a generated
credit score/player and have it generate on one credit card a line of credit
like 500k, 5megs, whatever, with a fixed APR/monthly rate. Of course like
normal cards if you pay it back in 1 month it's a free loan, if you take more
months you are bound to pay back minimum monthly payments + interest. If you
default on more than 2 payments, some thugs break your legs, if you default on
3, they relo randomly and steal items from your inventory which they hold in a
chest until you repay!
I think this would be a great way to avoid having to take short loans from
friends when you go to train in some faraway guild and you have no cold on you
, you could "charge it" or if you are 100k short on some sales purchase you
could charge the balance. Would this be hard to impliment? I think it's a
great idea, and based on how well you pay your balances your credit score (or
credit exp) rises and your max balance on the card rises as well, if you fail
to pay it properly or pay minimum interest/balance your score lowers and your
balance may be withdrawn to a smaller level. And cevap would start with
negative -1000 credit of course in this system. You could also incorporate
merchants into this somehow, since all "1" of them does loans but dozens of
players want loans, a fair and balanced credit system is needed! Give some
skill to merch if you want to have them be able to report good/bad credit on
players or something, whatever. But add this!
This is actually uite novel idea. I can see just one problem here. IRL, people
tend not to suicide and start over to escape debt. If the debt is from another
player, it is not a problem, as the situation does not generate new money into
the game. Essentially having credit cards would be generating new "free money"
into the game, which would be impossible to "garnish" if the person
responsible just quits playing.
So when one could be trusted with a credit card? 10M totals? 50M? 100? 2y game
age? How to determine how big credit they could receive? How big this credit
should be to be usefull for anything? How do you "deed" the belogings to
determine how much the credit taker has belongings to reposess if the payment
is not received?
I agree, this would be very neat to pay a training you can't afford "right
now", but could make the money in couple of hours with determination. But who
suffers when a player buys a piece of expensive eq, and fails the payments?
Maybe the eq was already sold and used for a reinc?
