. Enforcing usage of ships that were close to useless, is
gay. If you coded ships you should think before codding em how to make em
usefull or even if they are needed. Changing batmud to use ships is the wrong
way imho. The ships should be changed not whole mud. If you wasted year or so
codding useless ships let em stay useless or change em, rather then force
everyone to use em now. Are you really serious about forcing mortals to do
something just to prove some wiz didn't waste time codding ships? GIVE US BACK
THE RELOCATE, SUMMON, PORTALS, GO, MOBILE CANNON etc crap. ... but well let's
wait and see where it goes...
i wasn't around when ships were started (i think). who's to say that
continents were made to give ships a purpose? maybe they were implemented to
soften the blow of the upcoming world change. Is there a news post or
something stating that 'new toy ships are implemented, enjoy this way to
splurge money on suffeli' or something to the like?
Seriously, is there? Because i'd like to believe my theory. unless there's
proof otherwise, of course.
Perhaps the fact that you can't simply reloc/summon/cannon around the world is
an indication the WANT you to use ships (which sucks!). Using old portal/go
system would be good, it would takes lots of sps to travel with "go" spell if
it worked like before for this HUGE world anyways, so you DO get advantage for
using ship if you are not lvlmax navigator because of the HUGE cost on Go. So
if you put navs back how they were ships still have a use. Right now they are
too exclusive, expensive, out of tune, and important for the average player.
Ships should not be a huge common thing, not every person IRL has a ship to
sail around the world or a plane.
If ships were more like Cars (horses?) you just kind of have them to help you
move around and everyone's car is equally useful anyways irl, gets you from A
to B, then ships I could see a value. But complexity of ships now makes them
far too difficult for the average person to want to get involved just to get
to an area. And the wanderer? wtf, seriously, now wanderer relocate/summon is
like casting a heal all repeatedly or what? 6 levels in nav/wanderer just to
have a usable spell + bonus room explore?
Most players can't afford a decent ship, most players can't afford 6 levels to
move properly (some can't even join that guild if they want for their
playstyle), most players don't know where the hell ?75? special bonus rooms
are! Most players can't pay 10k/trip to exp area and spend 2 years walking
once they get there by ferry. Krzysiek is right, make this new world more
navigatable and put ships back where they belong: for rich people to fool
around with
