nice event. fix it, please.

Fix what? Please explain your request on bs.
I'll take a wild guess and say that it's the "idle 1h and 34min" to which
Acidia refers. An idle player should not be able to win hot potato, as it
means they never received it at all while the players who were actually trying
received it multiple times.
You should've tossed your potato to him, Acidia!
Nothing to be fixed in the event if someone you have never heard of won it
just because no-one tossed the potato to him. He just got lucky that someone
else always 'won' the random draw on who gets the new potato when the previous
one exploded.

Well, if it's "working as intended", then from my post change the
"fix" to "could you please alter" to make this event worth participating
other than with triggering and idling.

Thank you,

Well, how about we just get rid of the event then? I mean an event that you
can win idly and get crap for it can't be worth having, it's just a waste of
space, right?

If altering it is not a possibility, then sure, why not. Honestly, I doubt
many people would miss it.

Perhaps we could also get rid of Biff Swift at the same time..

That is an unacceptable request. Biff and I are close friends. If he's
removed, I may feel the need to unleash my pent up aggressions into the mud.
We can't have that.

Would it make you feel better if instead of idling, the guy who won was just
sitting there chatting and not actually playing the game, but still never had
the potato thrown to him? I think the fact he was idle is irrelevant. As for
the reward not being worth the effort of keeping track of who is still in or
not, that is a valid point, and that can be looked into.

The only real difference is that if someone is sitting there chatting, we
don't know for a fact that s/he never touched a potato. Whereas, the idle
person clearly did not.

I like potatoes. It's one of my favorite events. It's silly, pointless, and
merely yields a silly, pointless title to the winner. All it needs is a tweak
in the algorithm for giving the new potatoes, making it more likely for idle
players to get them and therefore less likely for someone who has already
tossed one to get a new one.

Just make potatoe like bloodbath, in that person with most tosses wins. If you
get blowed up you lose some points, but tossing at least means you're active
in the game. Or yes, remove the event all together.

At least make it the person with the most tosses *to different players*. Then
it would make sense.
Not much sense in 2 guys tossing it to each others hundreds of times:)

True, the idle player clearly didn't touch a potato. But that doesn't mean
he/she wasn't sitting at the keyboard during the whole event with 'toss potato
to beliar' on his prompt just waiting for the potato only to never receive it.
=)

If you take the time, and keep track of who's still in and who isn't, an idle
player should never win. I don't see a need to make it easier for people who
won't put in the proper effort. Is it worth it? Prolly not, which just
reinforces the point that this isn't a big enough 'problem' to do anything
about. An idle guy won a meaningless contest. Oh no! I suppose we could up
the reward, and then it'd be warranted to punish idlers, but then we'd have to
make the potato damage you when it explodes, and give you scars from the hot
spuds on your skin. No pain no gain! =)

I don't see what's all the big fuss about the potato event anyways...I
personally just type 'who' when it starts, do command tt toss elwood;toss
beliar;toss hackop;toss juo,toss nuane;toss dralith;toss acidia;toss
kimvais;...
and then when i get the potato, i just run that command which will bash
through all players...
