This is mostly a response to Nomed's post, but I suppose many others have been
thinking about the same stuff he mentioned in his post.
Well, first of all, like our angry Swedish friend already said: we've all been
there. We've all had shitty gear, no knowledge of mobs etc etc, yet many of us
have made it pretty far, if you can put it that way. And I agree with him on
'climbing the ladder', as he said.
But, I also realize that the threshold might seem just too high for many
people with no eq, no knowledge, no boons and so on. Trying to do stuff might
just seem completely impossible. After all, we even got a top-end player here
(*roetchen) who believes he's a 2nd rate caster because he doesn't have a
twinkling cape from Sera. So knowing that people might have that kind of
mentality, I thought I could try to help lower the threshold for you guys who
are interested in learning new mobs, learning how to build a succesful party,
learning how to lead.
Now, before someone goes totally batshit bonkers, I'm NOT going to give anyone
walkthroughs to eq mobs or anything like that. What I will do is that, if
asked in a reasonable manner when I'm unidle/NOT IN PARTY, I will help you to
the best of my ability with general stuff about doing eq, leading, exploring
etc. If you've already done apo, tom, kourish etc, I might be able to point
you towards another area with suitable monsters that are a bit more difficult.
I might be able to tell you what sort of a party is suitable to explore the
area. I might be able to help you with your reinc, giving helpful pointers on
good reinc ideas for eq, help with eq you might try to get and so on and so
on. Basically just anything that interests you, don't be afraid to ask dumb
questions.
Obviously, I don't know everything there is to know and I don't pretend that I
do. But I think it's safe to say that I do know quite a bit, especially about
leading. So if you feel like you might wanna try exploring/leading something,
but feel like it's never gonna work anyway, maybe I can give you the push that
you need. After all, I was once in the same position myself.
Hell, maybe I could even take the time to write a general guide to
leading/good eq reincs or something like that to the library here, if the
response I get is positive enough.
