I honestly think there are way worse areas than Burning village in the
game...not every place is meant to have some super epic quest/eq mob in em.
Leave the old areas as they are ...they are part of batmuds ancient history
when shit was a lot more basic :D
Gotta agree with blayke here. There are old areas with shitty descs and lousy
ideas, but well this is game and there should be places where people can kill
monsters and do things without waiting right phase of the moon.
Burning village has 2 little simple "quests", which were fun to find out.
Funny that you should shout about this area, instead of Well, Smurville or
newbie petting zoo. That list could be easily continued, i just find it funny
that burning village was first one on the list and made it to the news :)

I'll shout about more areas when the time comes. It just seems simple areas
like this could at least be given a little tune up, little added flavor and
direction is all.

help immorting
Feel free to wiz and touch up any areas you feel like need it,
I'm sure that could be arranged. Even just writing some descs
and sending them to some active wiz might get get them updated.
For bigger changes I'd say it's better to leave the simple old
areas be, and bring on a new area, the effort for creating new
instead of rewriting old is pretty much the same, if not less.

I can't see whats wrong with burning village. It's a small, compact area with
couple of easy miniquests for newbies. It's even finished which is not true
for some areas in game. There are areas that are WAY worse than burning
village. Land of Anarchy, Zebells, Well, Darkwood (the place with "beasts" and
"monsters") come to mind for example.
