How about if tinmen would require gas and oil to operate? Or perhaps merchants
could modify them to use wood logs instead of gas.. Every time you log on to
batmud, some other player would have to pull your pull-cord to start the
tinman's engine.
It would also be cool if tinmen didn't spend ep for movement, since they're
like robots and stuff.

It would be über kewl if there would be sexbot version of tinmen. Three
motorized orifices included naturally!

Also, they would have DIVINE protections, since they are made of metal after
all. What would they need armors for?
Also they should not be able to regenerate hitpoints, or camp, or benefit from
campfires. In fact, normal cure spells should not work since they are
positive-energy driven and only work on tissue. Instead, merchants would be
needed to repair them with blacksmithing. Prices on tin would skyrocket.
Plastic surgery would be possible, with chrome and wunderbaums.

Or you could hire a gnomish peasant to follow you around and act as a
'personal healer' and repair you. You'd have to make sure your
peasant didnt get too hurt though. And of course you could hire
more than 1, but you'd have to have enough farms to make sure
you could support the extra peasants

And your shoes should wear out the more you move. If you don't have shoes you
should take damage from blisters and stuff. Ofcourse the amount of damage to
you or your shoes should be according to the terrain you're moving in. And as
we're at it, we should just remove the n,s,e,w,nw,ne,se,sw movement and just
have turn left, turn right, move forward and move backward. Much more simple!
And realistic!
