I guess everyone has noticed the pattern of tuning in Batmud, everything new
that gets added is super good and then after a while it gets downtuned for
sake of balance.
It send the message that "abuse everything as much as can before it gets
tuned".
Tho I guess it needed to do it that way that you get people to test stuff out.
No one would go to guild if you know it sucks and will get better after some
stup.. curious people test it out.

It is funny to see the priority of tunes, some stuff get tuned right away.
Then some things take a long time when the tune hits. Let's see..
1. Spider guild. Took long time to get tune and I guess it wasn't out of tune
right away when it came, but after other tunes and time. Tune came after
everyone knew the fact that it was stupid to even make evil_religous-reinc
without spiders.
2. Mage guild. It was 35lvls and nowadays it's 90lvls, pretty big gap.
3. Ambush and mobs selfheal tune. So was there some bug that it didn't work
and no-one noticed in years or? Anyways ambush tune was good but of course
made exploring harder. Then suddenly mobs started to cast weird powerful heal
spells --> Selfheal tune made some monster not worth to kill without stun, I
personally don't like that at all, but hey there is allways other monsters to
kill. (..and for eqmobs that was just one different way to get it hard to
kill, so no problem, unless it makes something literally unkillable)
4. Barsoomian. Years ago it was just curiosity for highbies and I guess it was
very hard to make it rock. Nowadays it was too easy to make it rock, so now
it's tuned. Problem with the race is, that it's the only race with more slots
(not counting tail-slot which half of the races have and you can get it with
eq also).
5. Rebirth(s). At beginning they got +exprate, +stats and what ever. Now
basicly you get to make quests again and few more races to choose which are
not any better than mortal races. Some players seem to hate the idea that you
get something from rebirthing. So it's ok that you get some suffeli from eq
but not by sacrificing a lot of exp which take long time to make too? Anyways
it was refreshing to rebirth, makes you do some reincs and go to places you
would not go if you were lvl90+ and thus, updating your game knowledge.
