If i understood it correctly, the banes are supposed to have a negative effect
(as they do now) in exchange for the tiny boon you can take with the bane.

I'm guessing that over half the banes are never taken by anyone over level 10d
of playtime. Especially since statboons were downtuned to 2/3 power and
players can compensate for a low stat with training nowdays. That some banes
are useless was I think a recognized problem, the reason for the bane severity
tune. Lacking that, I simply suggest banes have nothing to do with boons and
give a small, otherwise hard to get benefit, for a moderate drawback. Rename
them gaesa if you like. So rasism makes you sometimes attack dirty centaurs,
but gives pack bonus with other humans. The premise is that encouraging
different playstyles is a good thing. Emphasizing again that I'd really be
happy if bane severity just came back.
