So there are two 'working' ways to head on:
1) If you want to make a fast-lose system you really need to make crew
promoting cost fraction of the time/resources as it does now. Make pots easy
to get and as easy to make like alch pots so those really would be something
you can use in every fight.
2) Keep the slow-gain system but make it so that you don't lose your crew
permanently in any case. One option that would be quite neat is that crew
members and guards only go to unc from losing for the boot. Then in next all
would be back alive and kicking or if you want to use them sooner than that
THEN you need the hard-to-get potions.
Last point about the poll:
I voted option 2... but in my mind that meant in the lines: having some thrill
and chance to fight is good but losses shouldn't be bad (that cost of
salvaging is about the worst that can happen if you for example have time to
wait until next boot like in the example above).
The options would need bit more elaboration to give out real opinions. I fear
many will just vote number 4 without thinking more just because they might
already have a 1meter long d*ck in their forehead to stuff happened
Writers Note: Yes I didn't have defenders nor boarders, this was also my first
touch to the new system and wasn't prepared at all. I also don't know what it
is to become. This post point wasn't to criticize just to raise thoughts and
provide some regen fodder.
