How about making the spell \'light\' stackable? You can summon more than one

darkness and not ask for infra every two seconds. With wis eq and spr eq to
switch, you lose a belt/ring/whatever slot just to have something that can be
done by a spell.

That, or the wizzes can just let tarms have infravision spell.

You can\'t do this, why? Because some races, such as trolls and vampires,
require darkness. Get a ring of infra or something.
That\'s exactly my point. Some people can\'t (or don\'t want to) give up slots
just for something they *should* be able to have from guild. It doesn\'t make
sense just to have the spell only be able to summon one single ball of light
when in reality (some sort of reality anyway) you would be able to cast as
many as you\'d need to successfully light up the room. I\'m not saying infra
rings are dumb (most tanks use some sort of +infra eq anyway), I\'m just
saying that being a caster in a guild where some form of this is available to
you already should be made to work in full. I understand that some races need
darkness, obviously, but making a counter ability for that should be available
in guilds. Infra eq is used only because making torches and constantly casting
infra takes extra work. Rangers have torch creation, mages have infra/greater
light, tarms have...light. Just thought it would help people who don\'t want
to sacrifice slots for things magic can already provide. Of course, you all
will probably shoot me down anyway so just skip telling me why it\'s dumb and
go straight for the pkilling =)

Are you a fucking moron, there is no way that these spells can fucking stack.
Peroid. Darkness/Light should not, and more than likely, will not, EVER stack.
It would cause issues of: player 1 having 500x light on, and player 2(needing
darkness) having 300x darkness. Just use your fucking brain. There is a
reason this was designed this way by the arches. I'm thankful you aren't one.

That\'s NOT what I\'m suggesting at all. Consider this - the spell \'light\'
has an intensity of 1, for example and the spell \'greater light\' has an
intensity of 3. I believe that light should be made stackable ONLY TO MATCH
THE DEGREE OF GREATER LIGHT and then will be capped at that. I\'m not looking
for a way out of it like cesium, illuminum, infra, whatever. I\'m only
suggesting that realistically this should be made excessable.

Please stop this ridiculous nonsense. If light spell would be made stackable so
that it would equal greater light, then what would be the point of greater
light?

Wizards, please do NOT change the light system. It is already quite complicated
and races who need light or darkness have to carry around all kinds of \"dead
weight\" in order to avoid the negative effects.

And further more, since when has it become a popular trend to use \"teenager
language\" on flame? Comments like \"You fucking idiot!\" and the like are
hardly useful in any way. Please, people who like to curse at other player, do
not be offended. I just don\'t see the point in using such language in news
posts.

Please don\'t confuse me with someone who actually cares one way or the other,
but since you seem to agree that the current system sucks, whats wrong with
suggesting changes to it? If they improved the light spell (I still can\'t
believe that we are arguing about the _light_ spell of all things) maybe
people wouldn\'t have to carry so much dead weight to be able to see/regen?

Light restrictions are just a useless annoyance. But then so is \"You feel
thirsty\" every 5 mins, etc.

I second that. Grow up.

Well, just to clear up some things: I don\'t really care as much about light or
darkness spells either. I am one of those players who accept the fact that in
role-playing games different races and characters have their pros and cons.
One example being the Trolls\' light allergy. I love this race and accept this
\"handicap\" considering the, in my honest opinion, well compensating benefits
of being a Troll.

Of course I don\'t like party members complaining \"Damn Trolls! there goes
Uqualin\'s water allergy again.\" and me having to keep reminding my party
members to \"Put out that damn torch! I have half str, dex, and con.\" But
hey, I chose this race for myself and I would not change a thing about it.

I just feel that players whining to wizards about \"make this spell/skill
better to suit my personal preferences\" is selfish and very \"munchkin\", if
you know what I mean. The thought of someone messing up a system, which
currently is sometimes perhaps a bit annoying but lets face it, it works, just
makes my skin crawl.

Seriously, players who feel that this game does not work perfectly according to
their own desires, LIVE WITH IT!

@Uqualin gets ready to be bombarded with a lot of replies.

Well, currently the \'light\' spell isn\'t even enough in some outworld
rooms/areas, which is downright ridiculous, it\'s supposed to be magical light
:-p

Drop duration to 1/10 of current (mine lasts 8-10 hours without eq or
something), and allow it to stack, would make it reasonably useful (as it is,
current spell\'s worth 0.05kg of carrying capacity or something). Note that
whine\'s mostly so I could reasonably solo naked, not to save 0.2kg of weight
or something in partymode.

As it is, playing ent\'s frustrating (or hrm, maybe we could get torch
creation! we\'ve got built-in parts to burn! \\o/)

Since when has light/darkness NOT stacked? People wouldn\'t be carrying around
10 nullium rings if it didn\'t. The \'light\' and \'darkness\' spells are
obsolete because they are about the only form of light/darkness that CAN\'T
stack.
There is at least one race that needs light, so this is not a totally stupid
idea. I dont think that the light spell is going to cause any more
light/darkness wars than there already are. Nobody is going to cast light 20
times every few minutes when there are easier ways of getting stacked light
anyways. But the problem you describe already exists, designed by your
brilliant arches.

I guess it is just easier to cuss at the newbie than to think.
