The concept of "Hell", "karma" and eternal punishment are common in major
religions. Surprisingly I find several coinciding points between a general
definition of "Hell" and our beloved game BatMUD:
- It is nearly impossible to leave or escape, the few who try usually return
or are never heard from again.
- Inhabitants live under whims of vicious entities with god-like powers.
- Most powerful of these entities can do anything they wish to, tormenting
masses or rewarding individuals, whatever happens to please them at that
specific day.
- Mortals of higher stature may gain divine knowledge or other benefits
via secret Faustian pacts.
- Most notorious mortals may gain place among the demi-gods/demons.
- Evilness is indirectly encouraged, via law of the jungle and survival of
the fittest.
