It also bugs me to code all kinds of cool features when even a 89lvl person
cannot be expected to figure out how to avoid nasties. You can walz right into
the mansion avoiding immolation.
I\'m expending all this information now in news so that people would actually
dare to explore and experiment. Usually wizzes are not implementing big areas
just to piss people off and keep players out of there. Areas these days are
not quite as linear as the ones 10 years ago.
Punishing players who do the \"wrong\" thing while exploring/experimenting with
spells like immolate is exactly the sort of thing that discourages people from
exploring/experimenting.
That's why wise players explore/experiment without topnotch eq.

Speaking as a newbie I think Domgroths is an excellent example of what an area
should be like. There are multiple ways to mess up. Syntaxes that can be found
but arn\'t obvious. You can explore without getting instakilled if you pay
attention. I particualty like the way that there is multiple ways around
certain things. Having said all that, I would have never considered it to be
an area where one could get newbie eq, those mobs beat the crap out of me, and
once you do start fighting if you don\'t know how to get out you also have
issues.
