Hello, everyone.

There was some discussion about this earlier on, but I'd like to bring the
topic back up. The problem is that nowadays one usually has to ask around for
a day in order to get a merchant to cast feather weights.

Could we get a NPC that would cast proper fws (like a merchant with good KoM
and enough wis) for a bit higher price than the current market is. I think
merchants do fws for something like 2k per cast and then might give discounts
soo... 1,5x price wouldn't damage the economy too much?

Give it a thought or two before replying, please.
I used to charge 5k/cast as a merchant and I had just about the right amount
of customers.
The fw/prot pricetag has remained virtually the same for the past 10 years,
yet the ability to make money has become quite something else from those
times. Perhaps it was time people paid a sensible amount for the time of
merchants.

You see, the problem is not that there are no merchants. The problem lies in
the customers willingness to pay enough for them to care.
At least that's how I saw it when I was doing merchanting.
This couldn't be more wrong and out of touch... the last time i needed fws i
offered 100k for around 35 casts and it took me over a day to find someone who
could do them... not one of the merchants i asked offered me a higher price,
they all either didn't respond at all or said they were too busy atm doing
something else... when i did find a merchant who was finally able to do them
they told me the charge was 40k...

The issue isn't the prices people are willing to pay it's the time it takes
away from other pursuits, let merchants do an entire set of fws in a minute or
two and the problem would be solved

Let merchants do a set of fw:s in a minute, and it would still take the
customer 10 minutes to get to him.
There is a problem with the merchants being mining all the time, I'll grant
you that. People seldomly want to leave their secluded places just for a few
fw:s.

Also, it might help to tell the merchant the amount of fw:s you need, the
common fault is to ask for "a few fws" and it ends up being that 30 casts. And
then you get the "Player [wanted] merchant" type of things which is not all
too interesting to the average merchant.

Actually Juos comment isnt all true...SOME people have more cash than wot used
to be , some are still as poor as always.
BUT i do agree that getting eqs fwd can be quite a hassle , and an NPC like we
used to have in batcity some time ago would be nice , even if it charged more.
And if you dont want to pay 5-10k per cast to the NPC , wait for an unidle
merchant to service you if they feel like it. OR get yourself eq with maybe
less stats but less weight also (like tigers used to do)
