Donations are open again:
Now that everyone is donating and becoming too powerful, will boons be
downgraded AGAIN ?
Boons aren\'t as powerful as they used to be, shouldn\'t they be cheaper?

How can you call it a donation when you receive something in exchange ? In exchange for your money you receive tps proportional to the money given. Isn\'t this a purchase?

My sole purpose is to point out that tps are not secure, they are not safe. The boons they give you access to have been downgraded in the past, and can be downgraded in the future.

This is just a warning, make an informed decision about your money. Donate for the advancement of the mud, do not expect anything in return, then you won\'t be disappointed.

Well, admins can make a choice to not to give anything in return. Would that
be a good option? It's a donation after all, as you rightfully mention.

^o^

First of all, this topic doesn't belong in this newsgroup. Heck, trolls don't
belong in news in the first place.

Second, yes - we do retain the retain to tune boons to keep the game in
balance. We do it infrequently, but when need arises. Just like we will
tune your precious items or whatever else that causes the game to become
seriously inbalanced. This should be fairly obvious, a game without
balance loses its challenge and becomes boring.

Thirdly, and this is from a legal viewpoint, you do not receive anything
in exchange for your donation, so it is, as the name implies, a donation.
All content within the game, be it the BatMUD code, your items, your
savefile or the tp's on it, are the intellectual property of bat ry,
and from a legal viewpoint none of them are owned by you (aww, shock!).
That being said, we try to operate BatMUD in a way in which our players
aren't impeded by an enormous bunch of legalities about IPR rights, and
rather use common sense.
