A friend works in emergency response in USA. Bush has not activated the
existing national plan for an attack on a major city. GWB feels that the
appropriate response to this attack is to invade Venezuela.

One of my employees is actually in the national guard, and a majority of
National Guard troops still in the US have been called up to duty for 6-8
weeks. It's going to hurt my store to let him go, but I'm thrilled he's
going. No matter how much of a moron Dubya may be, he happens to be right on
this one. The guard relief is being sent with food and water, and are being
coordinated with the Red Cross. Unfortunately the looters in the actual city
are shooting at the rescuers to avoid being pulled out of the city. Short
story is, people suck, and we need military support to put down the looting
and rioting first before we can actually do more in the city.
