Or how about doing something to the actual reason why people
don\'t donate so much? Namely, that even the \'diminished\' amount of
donated stuff is so much more than stuff taken out, that he hardly ever
accepts anything worth less than 2k gold.
If Damogran always accepted stuff less than 2k worth, newbies would be
so happy. ...riight. The usual stuff donated is pretty crappy already, if it
was _easier_ to donate low worth stuff the whole point of Damograns warehouse
would be ruined.
I have this feeling the maximum points you can get from an item is 3000..
So as long as you can, there is no reason for you to donate anything that
would give you more points since you could donate lower worth stuff
instead and get as many points. People who donate to actually help
newbies are a different matter of course, but I don\'t think they are a
majority.
Late in the boot it gets harder to donate so you must donate higher worth
stuff that might be of actual use to newbies. But you still only get 3k
points. What about raising the points you can get from a single item?
Also, polearms inherently have a higher worth than just about any other
weapontype.. so you frequently see 10 pikes or such with maybe 1 other weapon
available. Maybe it could be tuned so that random weapons would have only 1
slot for each weapontype and material. 3 iron pikes and 2 laen pikes would
take 2 slots, with the best condition weapon first on the list. Once someone
asks for one of those, the second best condition weapon would replace it.
Or 2-3 slots for each weapon category.. small, medium and big
bludgeons/sblades/etc. ?
Same principle could be used on armours but can\'t think of other than a
couple slots for multislotters and the rest free for anything.. Just too many
armour types around.
Extra points to donater if someone actually asked for the item? though this is
prone to abuse I guess..
If 3000 points towards the lottery isn\'t the maximum from one item, feel
free to laugh at me while I crawl under a rock.
