I want to say ONE MORE FUCKING TIME, how utterly STUPID 1 month general prots
are on monsters. I want to kill stifism, and ive killed him 2 times in over 5
years. And i cant kill him ever because players who can play all day get to
go there b4 i do. THAT IS FUCKING BULLSHIT. Please there was already a lot
of work done on making quests doable for ALL Players. Please do the same
thing for eq monsters. General PROT DOES NOT WORK. It increases problems
between players, and consolidates eq hoarding among a small group of players.
If the problem that needs solving is AMOUNT of eq in the game, make the
personal prot on stifism VERY LONG, say 6 months. I bet there is only a few
people who go to check that mob anyways. Do the SAME Fucking highbies need to
get yet another fucking frost medallion?

Can SOMETHING be done about this finally?

I have to agree on this one. Some wizzes don\'t though...

Good for you. 2 times is pretty decent! When I was considering wizzing last
autumn, I had 3 mobs left in my kill-list: Burgle, Asmo and Stifsim. I think I
got stifsim before Burglefloogah, but I\'m not totally sure on this one,
anyways, Tiamat is a walk in the park compared to getting to stifu...

I agree again. However, I do see the rationale behind general prots. It\'s an
easy way to make unbalanced and too easy mob, as the eq won\'t totally flood
in (the mob with the relic...). Anyways, lets face it. Tuning mob to the right
difficulty is really hard, so this is yet another easy hack. And, it\'s much
better there is a Stifsim, than if there wasn\'t.

Stifsim would really need a revamp if the global prot would be dropped. The
easiest, non-agro version is such a wuss that I can\'t see any party capable
of getting there, failing it. So, every eq-ss would get 1-2 medallions every 6
months, depending on how many 9-mans they can collect... So, just personal
6month wouldn\'t be enough, it would need more work than that.

In the end, it\'s the responsible coder\'s decision. For better or worse,
that\'s the way it goes, and the best hope is to try to persuade the areacoder
to change the mechanics. Until the perfect solution comes along, we just have
to live with what we have.

Sounds to me that the monster(s) gets tuned and gets its \"hardness\" according
the same group that kills the monster(s) over and over again.

A :-D hits you.

See a better alternative? I think tunepole hits monster when it is constantly
\'owned\', preferably in minutes (pre-tune Jane anyone? I think 7 minutes was
the record.. likewise for those one-two run old reaver/thana visits.)

I have pretty much given up even pretense of doing eq mostly due to RL
concerns, but also partially due to insane amount of lurking online it
requires to get to some areas, not to even mention seeing the monsters
(*cough*trill*cough*alysia*cough*stifsim*cough*).

Sad thing is, though, I don\'t really see solution either. The edge between
constantly owned monster and \'available\' one is fairly thin.. but just
global rapeprots I see as wrong, I think we should just have rapidly growing
personal rapeprot on those doing the mob.

In case of Stif, I could live with say, half-year, year, multi-year rapeprot
per kill, rather than the current absurb situation that it is one of the few
monsters I don\'t even bother thinking about going to visit anytime.. (it
simply does not survive without massive grudge)

Second alternative would be fairly long personal rapeprot, but inability to see
items - I would say that would definitely decrease the amount of amulets coming
to the game. I think this fixed waino-rape to some degree.
